The lake is stocked with sport fish, including the prized barramundi. A fibreglass cast of the world record Barra, caught in Lake Tinaroo, resides over the bar at "The Lodge". Those in the know say there are even bigger ones waiting to be caught. Many other species of fish and red claw are caught all year round in this stocked impoundment, licences available at the office.
A diverse variety of bird life can be found throughout the area with over three hundred species recorded. Dancing Brolgas and Sarus Cranes are common in the near vicinity. Possums, tree climbing kangaroos and platypus provide spectacular viewing with photographic opportunities, early mornings and evenings, into spotlight wonderland nights. Guided wildlife tours can be arranged through the resort. For more active pursuits there are walks around the lake shores and surrounding hillsides and mountain biking.
